Hisense is known for their excellent budget TVs, and they are not disappointing with the U6G and U7G either. The question is, what features you miss if you go for the U6G instead of the slightly more expensive U7G? It anticipates quite a bit, but the U6G performs surprisingly well in some areas.

Hisense U6G and U7G compared β Which TV is better?
Detailed comparison: Hisense U6G or U7G
Reflections Comparison
Surprising winner
Although the U7G gets brighter and so you might think that it is also better against reflections, you will be surprised to find that this is not the case. The U6G is actually better suited against reflections, which means that you have to worry even less about reflections in the image than with the u7g.

Viewing Angle Comparison
Hisense U6G vs U7G β narrow viewing angle
VA-Panels are notorious for being able to produce a good contrast, but their viewing angle at which the image does not suffer any loss of quality is relatively narrow. And therefore, unfortunately, the viewing angle of these two models is also very narrow.

SDR image Comparison
For SDR, the U6G is better
If you donβt need the gaming features and you only watch SDRStandard Dynamic Range β image/video with a conventional gamma curve (opposite: HDR) β βnormalβ videos content with a refresh rateHertz is the derived SI-unit of frequency with 1Hz=1/s β When talking about TVs this means how many different pictures a TV can display in one second. of 60 HzHertz is the derived SI-unit of frequency with 1Hz=1/s β When talking about TVs this means how many different pictures a TV can display in one second. or less, then you can go for the U6G β because both perform about the same here and the U6G even has a wider color gamut.

HDR image Comparison
And for HDR, the U7G ist better
For their price range, both Hisense TVs show a pretty good HDRHigh Dynamic Range β image/video with more dynamic range (contrast range) performance. This is due to the high contrast ratio and the peak brightness. However, the U7G is still a bit ahead here because it has a slightly higher contrast ratio and gets a bit brighter.

Movies & Series Comparison
For the price β both are a blast
Since both TVs have VA-type LCDLCD = Liquid Crystal Display β a type of screen using liquid crystals for creating the image panels with Full Array Local Dimming, the picture quality with normal SDRStandard Dynamic Range β image/video with a conventional gamma curve (opposite: HDR) β βnormalβ videos content hardly differs from another.
The better Local Dimming of the U7G makes it a better choice if you want to use your TV for HDRHigh Dynamic Range β image/video with more dynamic range (contrast range) content. However, it should be noted that both TVs deliver a pretty good HDR performance for their price range.

Gaming performance Comparison
There is a clear winner when it comes to gaming
So, even though the picture of the U7G is slightly better, when it comes to brightness or contrast, this should still not offer enough added value to make the surcharge worthwhile. However, the gaming features of the U7G might convince some of you to buy it.
The difference is mainly that the U7G uses a 120Hz panel and the U6G only a 60Hz panel. Additionally, the U7G has 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, that support a Variable Refresh RateVariable Refresh Rate β synchronizes the displayβs refresh rate with the output refresh rate of the graphics card and 4K@120Hz. So, Gamers, especially those with one of the newer consoles, should definitely consider the U7G.

Sports performance Comparison
The U6G has a better response time
However, there is also one aspect where the U6G does better than the U7G, and that is the response time. It performs marginally better, resulting in a little more precise motion β this plays a big role in fast video games and sports broadcasts.
Thus, if you only receive 60 HzHertz is the derived SI-unit of frequency with 1Hz=1/s β When talking about TVs this means how many different pictures a TV can display in one second. at most, like from an older console like a Playstation 4 or Sports-broadcasts, the u6g will perform a bit better.

Our conclusion:
Which one to choose depends on the application!
Well I think the decision between the two TVs can be quite easy.
If you own an Xbox Series X or Playstation 5 then you should get the U7G as youβll benefit from the upgrade and extra features.
If youβre not a gamer or donβt own one of the new consoles, than the U7G is probably not really worth it. The HDRHigh Dynamic Range β image/video with more dynamic range (contrast range) performance might be a little better, but you wonβt see a real difference in SDRStandard Dynamic Range β image/video with a conventional gamma curve (opposite: HDR) β βnormalβ videos content and sports might even look better on the U6G.
