Pacing Guide for Culinary Arts and Foods

Starting the school year on the right food usually means having a pacing guide for the course or courses you teach. This is especially true for technical education teachers because you are busy once the year begins! Our free culinary arts scope and sequence includes pacing for Intro to Culinary, Culinary 1, and Culinary 2. These scope and sequences are available by semester or full year and are meant to help you plan your school year with suggestions for lessons and activities for classroom instruction.

What’s Included in the Culinary Pacing Guide

These pacing guides include introduction activities, recipes, food item ideas, lesson plans on culinary fundamentals and the science of baking, activities that can help with national sanitation certification, and appropriate industry certification.

Students also learn about culinary career opportunities, kitchen production skills, and workplace professionalism. Both Prostart standards, as well as the National Family Consumer Science standards are considered in these pacing guides.
