Lemuel Plummer comes from a family who are all immersed in media production. Per an interview he did with Black Enterprise, both of his parents owned three television stations in his home city of Detroit.

“I understood that my parents were doing something very, very different and unique and special,” he said in 2021. “I was very fortunate to be able to learn from, not only my parents, my other siblings who worked for the company. I decided that this was something that I wanted to pursue in television and maybe one day in the future, I could have my own network.”

Prior to launching Zeus Network in 2018, Plummer landed a first-lookdeal with BET Networks at the age of 20, where he produced hit series includingThe Mo’nique ShowandThe Family Crews.He also sold his first show, Preachers of LA, to Oxygen before shifting to a more secular style of entertainment.

“I just really felt like I needed to do something that was just bigger, like selling shows was great, and they gave us millions of dollars to produce these series, but they ultimately controlled everything,” Plummer told Afrotech in 2022 regarding launching Zeus. “I just really want to launch my own network, and I just had this passion and desire to want to do it.”

Lemuel Plummer is married to Miss US Virgin Islands Universe 2010, producer, and Zeus Network host, Janeisha John. Although the two seem to be very private about their relationship, they’re far from a secret.

On her birthday of last year, Plummer wrote a public message professing his love for her on Instagram:

“Happy Birthday to my beautiful queen @janeisha_missvi. I feel very blessed to have you in my life. It’s been 7+ years together and we’ve experienced lots of ups and downs, highs and lows, good and bad. I’m grateful that through it all, we’ve been US,” he said. “I couldn’t imagine celebrating this day with a more deserving, loyal, caring and talented partner. No matter what people say or think we know our truth. Know that I always got you.”

The two, however, were rumored to have trouble in paradise when he was accused of being intimate and even abusive towards some of the women he’s casted for his Zeus shows. John has never addressed rumors about her marriage to Plummer, but he has exploded on those accusing him of heinous acts many times.

Fans Call Him "Lemmy Pepper"

Fans began calling Lemuel Plummer, “Lemmy Pepper” — a wordplay on lemon pepper wings — after his name began gaining traction on TikTok for all of the wrong reasons. The CEO was accused of a few bizarre and unprofessional acts by cast members of Baddies, which he has vehemently denied.

However, “Lemmy Pepper” has become a moniker that he has embraced, as he bought an iced-out chain with “Lemon Pepper” in all caps.

Plummer’s name jumped from the credits when former Baddies star, Stunna Girl, accused him of underpaying employees, underserving staff, andhaving unprotected sex with Baddies stars Scotty and Ahna Mac earlier this year. The rapper also shared screenshots of alleged text messages exchanged between her and Scotty where, the latter allegedly admitted to sleeping with Plummer and him giving Ahna Mac chlamydia.

However, all parties denied contracting an STD, with Plummer sounding off on Stunna Girl, who has been accused of being bitter since she isn’t on the show anymore. “They think they’re out here clearing something but they need to focus on clearing those records that’s not coming out,” he fired back at the time.

Since the explosive rumors took over TikTok feeds tailored to Zeus Network fans, a petition was created to cancel the streaming app in its entirety.

An unknown woman claiming to have been a former Baddies cast member created the online form where she accused Plummer, Natalie Nunn and the network of “sex trafficking, sexual assault, physical assault, coercion, intimidation, theft, pandering and financial abuse.” She also claims that Nunn and Plummer are “luring in talent with promises of fame and fortune” but instead, are “subjecting them to a deeply harmful environment.”
